What better way to promote safe teen driving than to have their peers encourage them? That’s the idea behind Toyota’s recent TeenDrive365 Video Challenge, a competition designed to have teen drivers make short videos on safe driving habits.
More than 1,000 videos were submitted from across the country, according to Toyota. In order to help with the judging, Toyota partnered with Discovery Education and gave four lucky winners cash prizes. First place was $15,000, second place won $10,000, third place won $7,500, and People’s Choice won $5,000.
“Each year we are impressed by the creativity and talent of the young filmmakers who enter the Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge and this year was no exception,” said Michael Rouse, President of the Toyota U.S.A. Foundation. “At Toyota we believe that when good ideas are shared great things can happen.”
In addition to cash prizes, Discovery also gave teens a chance to work with a professional film crew in order to reshoot their videos. For more information about the competition or the project, check out TeenDrive365.com.
